Tattoos, like flowers, flourish organically – because that’s how art evolves over time.
Sören Sangkhul’s bestselling book, Japanese Flora, was an instant hit when it was originally released in 2018. It was an intensive exploration of the flowers used in Japanese tattoo designs, such as cherry blossoms, chrysanthemums, lotus flowers, and peonies. The book also highlighted not only the inherent beauty of the plants but also how no two flowers are ever completely the same.

The book was such a success that Kintaro Publishing printed a second edition, which also sold out. Now, Sören has compiled a third special edition of Japanese Flora, which features 40 exclusive new pages, designed to complement the existing designs and enhance the reading experience.

This hardcover tattoo book has a limited print run of 1,000 copies. It’s portrait-orientated (27cm by 38cm), and printed on Munken Pure 150gr paper, to ensure it lasts for years to come. As a special edition, it also has 148 pages, making it a real collector’s piece.

Sören has specialized in traditional Japanese design for years and has a formidable reputation in the tattoo scene. If you’re a fan of intricate Japanese artwork, then this special edition tattoo book is the perfect addition to your collection.

Am excited to gift this book to my friend who is currently undergoing Tattoo apprenticeship. I bought myself one as well because I love studying line work and flow. This book is great. Printing is big, clear and good quality. Great to reference and learn from. I like the detailed thought process on how to develop each piece. There were some dents on the packaging box of the book, but the book was perfectly fine. Delivery was quick.

Must have reference for Japanese flowers

If you really want to improve your artwork kintaro is the place to be. This book includes probably over 100 flowers and several pages dedicated to teaching you the step by step technique to capture the proportions of these beautiful flowers.
